PRESIDENT'S REPORT

Happy April NACE Family!

Spring is in the air and our catering events industry is blooming once again! Hope you all had a great Easter weekend with the beautiful weather. Here’s to a productive and successful month!

I wanted first to thank everyone again that had a part in making our 2024 CADES event a huge success last week! From our incredible and generous sponsors, to the launch of our new Best of NACE Charlotte awards, to our talented programs team. Everything came together seamlessly and this event wouldn’t be possible without all who were involved. Congratulations to all of our nominees and winners!

As a reminder, the NACE Experience Conference is taking place at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel from July 21st to July 23rd, 2024. Registration is now open and the early bird rate will be applied through May 6th, 2024.

This year, we will be offering TWO scholarships to attend the Experience Conference in Denver, which includes registration to all of the education sessions as well as the opening reception party, the NACE Foundation fundraiser party, and the NACE ONE awards gala. This is an $1,800 value. Keep an eye out for the scholarship announcement that will be sent out later this month.

Don’t forget to register for our April program coming up quickly on Tuesday, April 16th at CPCC. We have a great lineup of panelists that will include:

Chef Ron Alhert, Executive Director, Community Culinary School of Charlotte

Dr. Sean Baldwin, Assistant Professor, Johnson & Wales University Charlotte

Richard Spellman MBA, CHE, Chairman-Hospitality Management, Central Piedmont Community College

Our food will be prepared by the culinary students, and the reception will be serviced by the hospitality students of Central Piedmont Community College. We’re so excited for the opportunity to support the growth of our industry on this level!

See you then!

Cheers,
Mikayla
