Michelle Garibay

Michelle Garibay, CPCE is owner and principal event planner with Michelle Garibay Events, launched in 2006 on the island of Oahu after her husband was temporarily transferred there from San Diego. With a mix of fashion merchandising, public relations, and corporate event experience under her belt coupled with the move to Hawaii, Michelle made the transition to destination weddings and quickly realized that was where she was supposed to be. After returning to Southern California in 2011, Temecula became home.

Michelle is a connector and an educator. She founded a Temecula industry group for seasoned locally-based wedding professionals, has taught a wedding planning certification course at the University of La Verne, and was named a Wedding Pro Educator by The Knot Worldwide in 2019 and 2020. She was also the 2020 and 2021 Director of Education for the Southern California chapter of Wedding International Professionals Association (WIPA) and is current Vice President for the Palm Springs chapter of National Association of Catering and Events (NACE). She is a repeat winner of California Day Magazine’s Best of Awards: 2x Planner, 4x Event Designer, and 1st win for Best Overall in 2023 for the San Diego/Temecula region.

Michelle Garibay Events specializes in destination weddings and serves all of Southern California, Hawaii, Mexico, and beyond. Her work has been featured in People, Martha Stewart Weddings, Style Me Pretty, Carats and Cake, California Wedding Day Magazine and many more.
